This is the only Motorcycle annual show in Montreal that brings together about 150 exhibitors. The majority are the world’s major motorcycle manufacturers, who exhibit all of their latest models. There are also a number of industry experts. The Montreal Motorcycle Show, presented by La Capitale General Insurance, features many attractions making it the must attend event for motorcycle aficionados.

Project LiveWire Experience is now in Montreal.The visitors have a unique opportunity to "test-drive" the first electric motorcycle from Harley-Davidson, installed on the JUMPSTART demonstrator. They can experience first hand the fast acceleration and the specific sounds of a Harley-Davidson, and can conclude that the electrically juices motorbike remains truly powerful. The bike on display is only prototype, with no date of production yet in view.

For the first time at the Show, and in collaboration with Spydertv.net, a display of customized Can-Am Spyders includes seven Quebec bikes as well as those that came from New York and New Jersey. The owners are on hand to answer visitors’ questions. The design of these three-wheelers by Can-Am BRP proves to be increasingly popular.

The traditional She Rides Nite return to the Show on Friday, February 27, 2015. Starting at 5 p.m., women pay just half the regular admission price. This celebration of the feminine side of riding will include surprises for visitors, including draws for a Ninja EX300 ABS Special EDT courtesy of Kawasaki and Sport Collette, and two motorcycle outfits compliments of TruCulture Motorcycle Clothing. 

In addition, visitors have the chance to view the Women’s Motorcycle Exhibit, a travelling display of 30 photos by renowned photographer Lanakila MacNaughton (see an example of her exhibited work just below).  Inspired by the new wave of modern female motorcyclists, MacNaughton’s exhibit reveals the brave and exuberant women who live to ride, expressing their personality, freedom, and independence.

4th Edition: Salon of Slow Food

The tasting of the organic wine, known as the Slow Wine Salon, will take place in Montreal, at the Bonsecours Market, on February 4, 2015, between 18:00 - 21:00. 

The Slow Wine 2015 is on its North American tour, and this is its Montreal stop. This event will be represented by 35 Italian wine producers, as well as 35 Quebec agencies and wine producers. In total, there will be 125 natural, organic, and bio-dynamic wines to taste. In addition, 5 artisan food producers will also participate in this show.

At the same time, there will take place a launch of the Slow Wine 2015 guide.

Campagna Motors Corporation is also known as T-Rex Vehicles Inc. It was founded  by Daniel Campagna in Quebec, Canada. Daniel Campagna was a Formula One Ford Team racer in 1976, 1977 and 1979. 

The company has two basic models: the T-Rex 16S and V13R. The grey car in the topmost image of this article is a T-Rex 16S, the orange car just above is a V13R.

Daniel Campagna had personally built the first model of the T-Rex. It took him more than 8 years to hand-craft his first prototype in 1994. Since then, this unique car occupies a special niche on the Quebec car industry scene.

Since the development of the first T-Rex prototype in 1994, Campagna Motors has established a reputation within the automotive industry because of its unique, one-of-the-kind design features, and also because of craftsmanship and reliability. The company now has a creative team of technicians who propagate the T-Rex heritage vision.

These sport cars only have 3 wheels and they sit rather low above the ground. They also have no roof. They definitely were not made for Canadian winters. But they have some very unique design features that make them very attractive. Just have a look, for instance, how the storage space problem was solved.

I advise you to go to the Montreal International Car Show and see this car personally. You will also have many other unique, not to be missed experiences at this year's auto show.

2015 Montreal Auto Show: Electric Circuit

Today, at the opening of the 47th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show, the Electric Circuit had a double launch. This year will be marked by the development of the fast-charge network. Also, the St. Hubert Barbecue will be outfitting all their restaurants with electrical charging stations by the end of 2015, in addition to the 28 charging stations that are already in service in various St. Hubert Barbecue locations. 

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Quebec.It is undertaking a major initiative in providing the charging infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Quebec. The network has more than 360 public charging stations including 8 fast-charging stations. The map above shows the extended circuit of the presently available charging-servicing points. This network will be growing in the future.

Below on the left is a picture of the regular 240 Volts charge station. On the right is the new 400 Volts fast-charge station. On its right side, the fast-charge station has the North American plug-in charging connector. On its left side it has the Japanese type of a plug-in charging connector. In this way the 400 Volts station can accommodate cars with different designs of charger intake. 

The Electric Circuit is planning to roll out 50 new fast-charge stations in 2015. It will also continue to deploy the slower 240 Volts charging stations.

Half Your Plate Canada

Today, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association and its partners announced and also celebrated the Quebec launch of Half Your Plate program for consumers.

Rather than to have people to count servings, this program simply states that in order to be healthy and maintain vigour and well-being, half of a plate should be filled with the fruits and vegetables. This makes it very simple for people to remember what proportions of fresh produces should be included with every meal.

Although Canadians are becoming more conscious of what they eat, the study shows that they only consume 3.5 - 4.5 servings of fruit and vegetables every day instead of 7 - 10 servings recommended by Canada's Food Guide. The Half Your Plate program offers a visual alternative to Canadians instead of counting the servings. This facilitates the planning of the meals and and the serving of the healthy food,

MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW HISTORY

The Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS) is produced by the Montreal Automobile Dealers Corporation (MADC). It was first launched in 1969. The show’s aim was to increase car sales during a time of the year (January) when business was somewhat slow for car dealerships.

After all those years, this annual Montreal Auto Show still is much-anticipated among Montrealers. It is one of the most important events of its type in Canada.

Notman Campus Inauguration

Today was the official opening of Notman Campus, which is  a hub for web and technology innovation in Montreal. Innovative start-up companies come to take residence in Notman Campus for 3-6 months to establish themselves, and then they move on with all the know-how and the necessary conference to succeed in the big business world.

The Notman Campus is located in a house which has been designated a historical monument on December 8, 1979. It is a former residence of a renown Canadian photographer William Notman, shown in the photographic self portrait below.

The Notman Campus (with a grey stone street front), along with a former hospital at the back of it (an all-red-brick building), have both been renovated and reconnected with new covered passage-way. The Campus is now specifically designed for business purposes: offices, conference rooms, and reception areas. Below are photos of two conference rooms.

On the following two photos are two under-the-roof large reception areas.

The following photo shows how both buildings are connected. 

Under the over-path there is a large conference room with circular sky-lights which can equally serve for professional presentations and conferencesas well as receptions.

Notman House has started its activity already in 2011, before the renovations of the campus were completed. Judging from the success with this pre-inauguration test project, they are now estimating that in the following 10 years, having received only one-and-a-half million dollars for their project from the outside sources, the start-up companies that used their services will generate the value of one-and-a-half billion dollars, in other words, a 1,000% increase on the original investment.
