Every year, the most remarkable innovations are selected as winners in the SIAL worldwide competition.

The SIAL Innovations is a contest that recognizes the best new products that showcase the trends in the global food industry. Products are chosen by an independent jury of industry experts and chaired by XTC World Innovation.

Assorted Chocolates with Sorbet and Ice Cream Centres by Essence Glacier, Canada – Booth #823
"Fantastic taste and a unique touch of originality is found in these ice cream and sorbet-filled chocolates by Essence Glacier (Canada). MesurACC Labelling Verification System by Étiquetage ACC Inc., Canada – Booth #2630
"This year, the contest also welcomed innovations from the processing, packaging and technical fields. Experts considered the MesurACC food-label verification system, a tool designed to ensure labelling respects regulatory typographical requirements. Simple and effective, this system will definitely come in handy for professionals."

The following producer Arturo Sánchez from Spain had two products that ended on the forerunner short list for the SIAL Innovations 2016 short list.

Heritage Ham Trio by Arturo Sánchez, Spain – Booth #1401
"In terms of taste, we were able to truly appreciate the Ham Trio, known as Heritage from the Spanish company, Arturo Sanchez. This product offers up a great introduction to its products via tasting thanks to three bellota hams cured using different techniques. SIAL Montreal 2016

SIAL trade show is one of the most favourite events that takes place in Montreal every second year. It is all about food, beverages, and many gastronomical innovations. 


Established in 2001, SIAL Canada was the culmination of the work of three organizations that are all shareholders in the event: ADAQ (Association des détaillants en alimentation du Québec), the Agri-Food Export Group of Quebec-Canada, and Comexposium (owner of the SIAL shows and subsidiary of the Unibail Group).



In North America, Expo Canada France Inc. (part of the Comexposium network) is responsible for the organisation of SIAL Canada. In 2005, the national food equipment and technology show, SET Canada, was created and is co-situated with SIAL Canada, offering a complete range of food industry products, all in one place.



The trade show is featuring a huge number of various foods from many different countries. It is simply impossible to taste all that is offered. But it make for a very exciting visit, a journey of a gourmet discovery.



Food Packaging industry is also represented this year with many attractive and innovative ideas.

California Wine - Montreal 2016

127 California wine producers are participating in a Canadian tour, introducing their wines in Montreal and Quebec City. Most of them will participate in both cities. Today, was the Montreal leg of the touring California Wine Festival.


The event was a great success, with great crowds of Montreal wine industry professionals attending the wine tasting event.


As you can see in the photo below, a variety of the excellent artisanat style of bread, cheese, and cold cults were also available at the event to ensure all the wine tasters keep sober and not hungry during the three and a half hour long wine tasting event.



Many of the wines tasted today by the wine professionals will be available in the future in the Montreal and Quebec local SAQ outlets. The following photos attest to the great ambiance the event created and the quality of wine tasting experience enjoyed by all.
