Mamuel Mateiu's Parfumes Launch 2025

MANUEL MATHIEU’S PARFUMES LAUNCH

Montreal, Centre PHI

September 3, 2025

Manuel Mathieu, a renowned Haitian contemporary artist known for his work exploring memory, history, and materiality, opens a new chapter in his creative journey by embracing scent as an artistic medium. With Manuel Mathieu Parfums, he presents a collection of unisex fragrances, where each scent becomes a work of art in its own right — an immaterial narrative traversing the senses, time, and space.

With this inaugural chapter of the Maison, Manuel Mathieu explores the relationship between emotion, dreams, and identity. Each fragrance is a distinct piece, a liquid architecture that builds an intimate sensory space. Inspired by his roots, travels, and quest for expression, he envisions a collection where perfume becomes a form of storytelling — a bridge between the individual and the world.

The first three compositions — île noire, ECCCO, and Desire — reflect deeply personal narratives while addressing universal themes such as rebirth, transformation, and sensuality. Created in collaboration with Juliette Karagueuzoglou, a renowned perfumer and VP at IFF, this debut collection is the result of an extensive process of research and experimentation, conducted in the intimacy of Juliette’s studio and lab. Together, they crafted unique formulas where every note evokes a story, a memory, a dreamed landscape.

ECCCO

The bottle, shaped from a clay sculpture hand-modeled by Manuel Mathieu, embodies his intuitive approach to material, texture, contrast, and form. Every detail echoes the principles of his visual art practice, where the tension between the organic and the constructed, the raw and the refined, shapes the sensory experience.

The original sculpture was reproduced and a few copies were at the participation table where they could be decorated by visitors.

One of the pieces was decorated by the Montreal's journalist Lena Ghio.

The collection was first unveiled online in Spring 2025 and was officially launched in Montreal on September 3rd. It was produced by hand at Atelier du Parfumeur IFF in Grasse by artisans trained in the traditions of high perfumery, and bottled by Bougie & Senteur. These fragrances are a testament to the art of expression. Just like his work in the studio, Mathieu sees perfume creation as a process of experimentation and alchemy, where raw materials are transformed into creations that exceed the sum of their parts.

DISTRIBUTION

The perfumes are now available at Etiket in Montreal and Toronto since August 15th. Founded with a vision of accessible and authentic luxury, Etiket has become a premier Canadian destination in the realms of beauty and wellness. Wine Tasting Event

June 17, 2025

The TBILVINO vineyard plots are located in the eastern part of Georgia, on a plane next to the Caucasian Mountains, in about two hours car ride from Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The company is devoted to preserving the ancient wine-making tradition in tandem with modern innovations.

TBILVINO  wines have received a number of prestigious awards and medals at the following international wine completions:

Decanter World Wine Awards, London 2022

IWC 2024 London

The Montreal wine tasting event took place at the au vinhub and was presented by Aleksandre Margvelashvili, the TBILVINO’s Director. He conducted a very comprehensive guided tasting of their 6 exclusive, rare, flagship wines, each crafted with precision and deep respect for nature, reflecting the terroir-land and its authenticity. All were natural wines produced in line with the old wine-making traditions. The presentation was very informative and fascinating.

TBILVINO intends to bring a recognition for the Saperavi wines and will seek to establish for them an Internationally recognized Separavi Appellation, the same as many other wines have, like Bordeaux wines, for instance.

TBILVINO is seeking representatives in Quebec and Ontario for their premium collection. Right now, as a starting point, they are mainly aiming for the hospitality industry.

FOR MORE INFORMATION, visit the TBILVINO website.

This event was a comprehensive introduction to the high quality, unique Georgian wine. Six wines were tasted at the Montreal’s Wine tasting event: one white, one orange, and four red. They were all excellent and rare wines, each with a very unique and distinct personality. Here are each wines’ characteristics, in the order they were presented and tasted. They were all excellent wines! Click on images to enlarge them

For more information and to discover their unique approach and a way of life philosophy to the wine making, visit the TBILVINO website.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2025

VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO

MASTERCLASS & FREE TASTING

May 22, 2025

Both events - the masterclass and the free wine tasting - were held in Montreal at the Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a red wine produced by vineyards that surround the town of Montepulciano in Italy. The wine is made primarily from the Sangiovese grape viriety (minimum 70%) that is known locally as Prugnolo gentile. It is blended with Canaiolo Nero (10%–20%) and a small amounts of other local varieties of grapes. The wine is aged for 2 years, of that at least 1 year in oak barrels. And is aged for three years if it is a reserve wine (riserva).

Ten exclusive wines were offered for tasting during the Masterclass. They were all excellent wines and it was quite a task to choose the favourite. Each wine had a specific personality and created quite diverse reaction in one’s mouth. Very unique and very impressive wines.

Many more varieties of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wines were offered at the free wine tasting event. This was an excellent event to get acquainted with the variety of exceptional wines from the Italian Montepulciano region.

The free wine tasting was generously accompanied with a great quality and quantity of Italian cold cuts and cheese tables at the back of the free wine tasting hall..
