Today, at the opening of the 47th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show, the Electric Circuit had a double launch. This year will be marked by the development of the fast-charge network. Also, the St. Hubert Barbecue will be outfitting all their restaurants with electrical charging stations by the end of 2015, in addition to the 28 charging stations that are already in service in various St. Hubert Barbecue locations.
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Quebec. It is undertaking a major initiative in providing the charging infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Quebec. The network has more than 360 public charging stations including 8 fast-charging stations. The map above shows the extended circuit of the presently available charging-servicing points. This network will be growing in the future.
Below on the left is a picture of the regular 240 Volts charge station. On the right is the new 400 Volts fast-charge station. On its right side, the fast-charge station has the North American plug-in charging connector. On its left side it has the Japanese type of a plug-in charging connector. In this way the 400 Volts station can accommodate cars with different designs of charger intake.
The Electric Circuit is planning to roll out 50 new fast-charge stations in 2015. It will also continue to deploy the slower 240 Volts charging stations.
