Salon du Livre 2023: 46th Edition

Le Salon du livre de Montréal 2023
Montreal Annual Book Show

November 22-26, 2023

The Montreal Book Fair, presented by Radio-Canada, opened its doors for its 46th edition at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. For five days, the general public is invited to meet their favorite authors and discover a rich and diverse program, this year highlighting our humanity through the theme "being human". This theme celebrates the extraordinary capacity for invention, the richness of the imagination and the unifying power of books and their value for each of us. The largest French-speaking literary gathering in America promises a contemporary literary experience, friendly, enriching and accessible to all.

The Montreal Book Fair is more than a literary event, it is a true celebration of books and reading, and above all, celebration of readers and creators. This is evidenced by the remarkable literary personalities of this 2023 Book Fair who embody the creativity and power of imagination stimulated by the literary universe.

Olivier Gougeon, the Director of the Show, stated:

"More than ever, it is essential to celebrate our creativity and the unifying power of books. The Salon brings together a great diversity of voices, a multitude of singularities, from which a certain collective harmony emerges. By placing humans at the heart of our programming and the event, we wish to highlight this fundamental need to live together.”

Once again this year, the visitors are able to attend the Great Interviews to hear their favorite authors presenting their stories in a new light. Audrée Wilhelmy, Jean-Philippe Baril-Guérard, Chrystine Brouillet, but also Gary Victor and Andreï Kourkov, among others, will reveal their secrets with the help of a host. Éric Chacour, in the running for the Renaudot prize for his first novel, will also take part in this game of revelations, as will the French-speaking Louisiana artist Zachary Richard and the committed author Martine Delvaux. New this year, great duos will meet face-to-face, including Rita Baga and Mado Lamotte, two generations of Quebec Drag Queens, Frédéric Lenoir and Nicole Bordeleau, Normand Baillargeon and Jérémie Mc Ewen who will discuss spirituality and beliefs together. and their place in society, but also, Kim Thúy and director Charles-Olivier Michaud, who will discuss the film adaptation of Ru.
