True to its great reputation based on almost four decades of track record, this Montreal Book Fair once again metamorphoses Montreal's Place Bonaventure into a giant book store. The show celebrates the pleasures of reading in all its forms and for all audiences. It proclaims the love of books and the passion of words that brings satisfaction and happiness.
This year, the Montreal Book Fair welcomes more than 2,000 authors, including a great number of them who write for children and youth, as well as more than a thousand publishing houses. The programming is intense: there are exhibitions, animations, dedications, book signings by the authors, and literary prizes awards.
This book faireis a paradise for kids. They arrive by bus-loads from Montreal's many schools, and flood the show with excitement and curiosity. Especially during the morning hours, they completely take over the exhibition space.
The show is a great place to buy books not only for one's personal library but to gift them during the upcoming holiday season to friends and family, and especially to children.
